“Diversity, beauty, personality and energy” is Grace Bol’s reply when asked what qualities a model should possess. A simple look at her resume shows us that Ms. Bol is in fact all that and more. Appearing regularly in shows for Givenchy, Kenzo, Rick Owens and Vivienne Westwood, she has turned herself into a runway and editorial staple, season after season.
Though born in Sudan, Ms. Bol came to the US as a refugee from the war in Sudan and has quickly risen to making a name for herself, while also becoming a fashion favorite for many. Just stumble upon a picture of her on Tumblr for instance, and notice the thousands of likes and reblogs.
Here, Ms. Bol talks exclusively with Playing Fashion about her dreams, beauty and regime, and her number one goal in life which is: “Happiness… And to hopefully become my own boss.”

My favorite brands and designers are Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Givenchy, H&M, J. Crew, Kenzo, Lanvin, Rick Owens, Topshop, and Zara.
by moisturizing my face daily and exercising regularly. Lip gloss and facial wipes are my must-haves. If I only had 5 minutes to do my makeup, I’d throw on some lip moisturizer, powder and mascara.
Beauty should be taking great care of the inside and outside of our bodies. I run twice a week and I love basketball. In my opinion there is no stereotype when it comes to beauty.
