This season, hairstylists have literally chopped off the ties between a simple ponytail and the lazy hair notion to give us dynamic looks for any occasion. From sport chic to classy elegance, the ponytail is tailored for the power woman who is always on the go. American socialite, Olivia Palermo, daringly wore an undone, mid-parted ponytail to her own wedding in line with an unconventional bridal outfit that paired a cashmere sweater with a skirt.
On the runway, ponytails are the power player of the season. A completely sleeked back, ultra low ponytailcomplements the season’s masculinity and raw beauty. At Stella McCartney, the girls modeled these low ponies with middle parted fringe to the brand’s well-suited eco-friendly collection; while Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel took a self-surpassing risk with his own twist to the simple look. A sleek, high ponytail was partially trimmed in 80’s style that matched colorful strands of fabric and the brand’s signature tweed with occasionally spotted mini braids - a funky hairstyle that made a Chanel outfit appropriate even for grocery shopping.
