The Bomber
This season, fashion takes flight on a sport luxe route with the bomber jacket.
Kaboom! Designers makes a blast in fashion this season by dressing up the sports luxe trend with an explosively cool piece from pilots’ wardrobes: the bomber jacket. Wear your personalized favorites of the season loud and proud, whether it is 47 brand’s bomber bearing your favorite team’s logo or a designer number. Karl Lagerfeld literally decorated his design for her with his lucky number - ‘7’; while Jeremy Scott at Moschino decorates the piece with the eccentric Italian brand’s logo humorously. On two very different flashy routes with their designs are House of Holland and Yorkshire-born designer Julia D’Albert. Inspired by "debauched debutantes”, the first flaunts bombers with a lipstick appliqué in the front and a cheeky “rich bitch” slogan on the back, while Ms. D’Albert incorporates space-age metallic panels into her clean minimalist designs.

Designers have also decorated the new classic with their favorite prints. Markus Lupfer throws a smacker lips print, while lightning bolts strike over Neil Barrett’s bomber and RED Valentino’s is covered with a heart print. Sassy ladies, beware of Parisian fashion house Balmain’s leopard-printed bomber. Made with 100% textured calf hair, the luxurious statement piece is an ultimate indulgence. Alternatively, DKNY carries a faux fur alternative, equally unstoppable.
